Homeschool Update

Happy October! I can hardly believe we're full swing into the Fall Season! I love love love Fall for so many reasons and October just happens to be one of my favorite months because of all those fun fall things to be done! Can't wait to share some of our adventures with you.
But, for now, back to my update! :)
We're starting our 4th week of school this week and while we've had our ups and downs as we figure out how homeschooling looks for us here, I'm so happy to report that it's going great! I'm enjoying getting into a groove with Nicholas and have loved seeing already such a independent spirit come forth when it comes to his lesson and what he's supposed to do each day. We went from "I need you to do it for me" at the beginning to him just doing it by himself now, without me saying anything! So proud of him.
Sophia is doing great too! I fully expected some battles. She's older, she's been in a classroom setting and she is being taught by mami, with whom she's fully herself and fully comfortable. But, despite some of those battles ,we get the job done every day and most of the time, when I see her struggling with her attitude, I know she'll make the right choice on her own, which in my book, is so important!
I've also just enjoyed learning with her and sharing this experience. I do like it so much more than I thought I would and I'm so thankful that we're doing this!
I thought I'd share some of the great resources I've found along the way and also link up with the first linky party I ever joined but haven't linked up to in ages! So sorry Courtney and Kimberly!!
Right now, my absolute favorite preschool and early elementary resource has to be 1+1+1=1! Such an amazing resource with so many incredible ideas! I think I mentioned before, but I'm currently reviewing the alphabet with Nicolas using her animal ABCs

and hope to soon be able to move on to Raising Rock Stars with him. I'm really excited about that curriculum!

This site has been great to get ideas and resources for Sophia
And most things on there are free! :)

Enchantedlearning.com is also another great site for themed activities and resources and I already feel like I've gotten my $20/yearly subscription's use!

Do you homeschool? What are some of your favorite sites?

  1. We just started home school this year too. I am really enjoying it so far. My daughter is in kindergarten. I love 1+1+1 and we use a lot of the confessions of a homeachooler print ables as well!
