Dear Raging Emotions..

Dear Raging Emotions (no, not mine) of my 4 yr old son and almost 7 yr old daughter, I do not understand you.  I really really would like to, though!
I do not understand how we can go from such a pleasant conversation one minute to extreme anger the next. I do not understand how we can be having so much fun one second and then dissolve into tears or frustration.
It's crazy to me that one minute you can be playing so nicely with each other and then BAM all of a sudden the earth is falling a part and your world is ending....for no obvious reason.
I know you're young and still trying to figure out how to express your very volatile emotions... I just wish I understood it better so I could help you sort through them. 
I wish I understood what makes you go from zero to 100 on the scale so quickly so that I could see it coming better and know how to divert it better.
Maybe one day we'll see eye to eye, but for now, you confound me, you blasted emotions.
