Hip hip hooray! I did it!
I'd been putting it off, but I definitely knew I needed a swift kick in the pants, food-wise. Hubby has been mostly grain-free and refined sugar-free for the past year and while I mostly joined him, I needed to get back on the straight and narrow.
I decided the Whole30 was exactly what I needed. No sweets of any kind except in fruit and no dairy.Plus no grains and simple carbs.

It turned out to be much easier than I thought it would be. There have been days I really just wanted some chocolate, but for the most part, I haven't missed anything I took out. And the results are great too!

One of the reasons I decided to do it was because of my family's history of arthritis (specifically rheumatoid). I really wanted to get ahead of that in my own life and knew that eating for autoimmune health would only help that!
I've been less achy. I haven't been nearly as tired in the afternoons (where I used to almost fall asleep or actually fall asleep when putting Lucas down for a nap in the afternoons, I haven't felt the need for that at all this past month).
And, the weight loss is an extra bonus! 15 pounds to be exact! :)
Overall I just feel better. When I did GAPS with Lucas a couple of years ago, while I started to feel better, I eventually felt much worse. From the get-go this time around, I feel much different and much better.
I've decided to go another 30 days. At least....Paleo definitely agrees with me and I feel so much better with clean eating.
I do miss dairy...who knows...I might re-introduce it and see what happens...but regardless, Paleo it is for me! :)
